ActionScript 3.0 Essential Training - lynda.com Online Training Library - this link ponts to 90 minutes of free video-based training in the essentials of ActionScript. I highly recommend this to any beginner. Understnding of variables, expressions and conditional statments is covered. The tutorial uses the Flex Environment but the same stuff applies in Flash

Bob Stocki recommends iStock for photos, but they have some great animated flash files too. Keep this one bookmarked. I searched using the keyword "animation" and got 694 results, but try your own keyword searchesiStockphoto.com Flash Files

This is a great presentation! Artist/animator Chris Georgenes creates a character from scratch using flash drawing tools. Click on "Watch the presentation" but be prepared to spend some time. The show is 1 hour but a great Flash tip every minute: Macromedia - Developer Center : Drawing and Animating a Character in Flash. If you survived the first one, here is another on "Lip-Syncing" in Flash. Not as densely packed with tips as the first IMHO but a great tutorial. If you enjoy Chris's work, you'll want to take a look at www.mudbubble.com
