At MATC/Vicom our legacy system is PC with Premeire. A lot of the critics of Premiere are familiar with the older versions of Premiere. Premiere Pro is industiral strength and getting better. On the other hand, in the industry, you'll find about 60-70% using FCP and only 10-20% on APP. another 20% using AVID or other systems. (Estimates are SWAG only - could be way off) In any case, you should be familiar with the issues and get experience on FPC if you are able.

Hi David,
Jon Richter here. I have not used any other video editing software, but I think Premiere is pretty darn neat. I had a media class back in highschool where we actually edited on an old hardware video editor. It used VHS tapes and while the interface looked a lot like Premiere, I must say it was FAR more difficult to use.

Hi David,
Im not to fimiliar with either one. I used both of them back when i was in highschool, but that was about 3 to 4 years ago and i havn't used them since. But i can remember catching on pretty fast to both Premiere Pro and Final cut Pro when i started using them. I can't really say which is better or which is more difficault.
