Devils Day 3

Devil's Island, Sunday, July 10th, 2005

Felt very lethargic and achy today.  Could be the result of 13 climbs up the tower, kayaking and hiking.  The heat and flies didn’t help either.  Highs are in the 90’s and the flies flock to your arms, legs and head whenever you go out.  Only a total of 4 tours today.  11 people hiked from the south landing. I told them to come up in groups of 4 but Moon over Lighthouse Keeper's dwellingthey ignored me and all crowded up at once.  The 7 guys anyway.  It became apparent that they were a bit intoxicated when they got a bit rowdy over putting on aprons, but then quieted down for the tour.  I was dozing off reading in the afternoon when 3 sailors in swimsuits seeking refuge from the swarming flies awakened me.  I think they brought most of them inside.  After each group, I spent about 10 minutes swatting flies. Took a  quick kayak and swim before dinner.

Note: Almost all the photos posted with these logs are photos that I took on that day.  Some days I took more than others.  The moon over the keeper's quarters was my first photo of the day.
